"A Bird in the Hand" - tactile bowl (small or medium)
A beautiful tactile bowl, thrown on the pottery wheel then hand decorated with individually imprinted tiny flowers and applied clay dots (tiny spikes) on the outside for a lace-like pattern and added texture and interest.
The bird pattern inside was imprinted and then individually drawn with slightly raised feathers.
The bowl was made from white earthenware clay initially bisque fired at 1125 C (cone 01), then cobalt blue was applied to the bird pattern before its second firing. Then a transparent shiny glaze was applied all over. It then went through a third kiln firing at 1040 C. It is perfect as an ornament, for keeping jewellery or nibbles.

- Small Bird & Moth bowl: W 10 cm x H 4.5 cm - £25
Hand wash only.
Please be aware that due to the nature of the textured decoration the bowl might be slightly sharp to the touch.
